In July of 1983, I went up to Alaska to see my dad. One of the things we did is go see the Portage Glacier that is located Girdwood, AK. This was summer time but some parts were still cold weather and plus I was playing with ice. This is pretty cool to see.
Portage Glacier is a glacier on the Kenai Peninsula of the US state of Alaska and is included within the Chugach National Forest. It is located south of Portage Lake and 6 km (4 miles) west of Whittler. Portage Glacier was a local name first recorded in 1898 by Thomas Corwin Mendenhall.
Here are some pictures of me and my dad.
