Today, 9/2/2023 me and my mom went the the Western National Park Store. They were showing a film called Paving the Way: The National Park to Park Highway (Part 1). Here is some of the wording they said on the flyer.
Pack your spare tires and extra provisions for an epic adventure! Join us on the 76 day inaugural tour of the National Park to Park Highway, a 5,000 mile route that connected all 12 of the national parks in 1920.
It started when the National Park worker Stephen Mather (director) and Anton Westgard (pathfinder for AAA) did the map route to the parks.
In 1920, 12 travelers drove on the highway from, Denver, CO to Rocky Mountains NP, Yellowstone NP, Glacier NP, Mt. Rainer, Crater Lake, Lassen Volcano NP, Yosemite, General Grant NP (now called Kings Mountain NP), Sequoia NP, Zion NP, Grand Canyon NP, Mesa Verde NP and then back to Denver, CO
Here is a quote I like: You Sing “America”. Why Not See It?
