Today me and my mom went to the National Park Store located in Oro Valley, AZ. There was a talk from a former ranger Charles R. “Butch” Farabee Jr. He was a ranger for most of his life and lived in a lot of parks.
Claire Marie Hodges was the first female ranger of the National Parks.
Here is the recent patch that came out in 1951. The shape of the patch represents Heritage.
The color Brown of the patch represents Earth.

In the last five years more than 1.6 Billion visors to our national parks and monuments. Are you one of the visitors that have been to the parks?
Found out the Yellowstone was the first National Park in the 1800’s but did you know that Mackinac Island National Park was the second National Park in the 1800’s. I never heard of Mackinac Island before so I will be looking that up to find more about it.
“Rocky Mtn” – Harry Yount in Yellowstone was the first Ranger in the National Park Service.
Steven Tyng Mather was the 1st Director of the National Park Service.
