Husband, Father, Neighbor, and President
While me and my mom were in Springfield, Illinois. We stopped at the Lincoln Home. This was the home of Abraham Lincoln and his family for 17 years before he became President of the United States.
When they first move in it was one floor and with one bedroom house. All their sons were born in this home. Then the sons were getting older they added another floor with four new bedrooms. There was one for Lincoln, his wife, sons and for their servant girl.
It was a beautiful home to live in. The first floor was for entertainment so it was all fancy and second floor was like a plain normal home. There were still some of original pieces on display.
The ranger told us that Abraham Lincoln had two hobbies. They were wrestling and saving stray cats.
Where this house is on a block that had some other homes of his neighbors. We didn’t get to walk around but it look like a good neighborhood.
They have a visitor center there where you can get info with some movies to see. You can get your stamps there.
