On 8/2/2024, me and my mom went on a tour of the Lewis and Clark NHP with the National Parks Traveler’s Club. The place we stop at was Fort Clatsop located in Oregon.
This was a copy of the Fort Clatsop that Lewis and Clark stayed at while they were on their travels. The Clatsop and Chinook Indians were living around the area along the river. The Indians helped them with shelter, clothing and food. Lewis and Clark were at this fort from December 7, 1805 until March 23, 1806.
We had a speaker show us around the area. She talked about the fort and the trail.
We walked through a forest that was around the fort. The speaker talked about the different trees that are in the area.
The fort had a two buildings with two rooms for each building. They showed how they lived. Used bunk beds for sleeping.
Sacagawea was a Indian that travel with Lewis and Clark. She spoke different languages.
Lewis and Clark were travelers that came from Pennsylvania on a path they made that they walked and took boats to land in Oregon.
