A Wilderness of Stone and Water
One of the new parks I went to was the Rio Grande Wild & Scenic River located in Big Bend NP. In
the early years you were able to go rafting along the river which was very popular. Right now the river
is very low that you can’t go rafting anymore. I went there March of 2022.
Our first stop was for lunch near Rio Grande Village. We bought some wraps from the lodge and ate in a park. In the park was Danial Ranch.
We went to a overlook to see the Rio Grande River. Here are some pictures on how low the water is. If you look at the pictures you can see where the water use to be.
At one of the stops where you could go camping the was a trail called Rio Grande Village National trail.
We drove to another outlook that you can see the Mexico border across the river. At one part of the section you can catch a rowboat that will take you across. You still need your passport. There is a little town that you can visit.
